Drillship Rowan Relentless stops in Curacao

01 april 2019

Upon arrival, the Rowan Relentless performed a small crew change off port via launch, while the rig was on "DP", about 0.7 miles South of the Willemstad harbor entrance. The rig stayed in position, performing tests to her new equipment.

The next day early AM, the rig moored at the Megapier. All service providers were neatly lined up alongside at the dock, awaiting their turn to provide service. The rig took on bunkers, offloaded trash, loaded provisions and spares while back-loading equipment for export. Vacuum trucks took care of waste water. Diving operations also took place during the call, to make sure no debris was caught in critical equipment during the transit from the Far East to Curacao. She departed around midnight the next day, ready for her first drilling assignment in the US Gulf.

The on & off signers, management teams and third party crews stayed at 3 hotels on the Island. In all, about 360 people transited to & from the rig while she was in Curacao.
